Frequently Asked Questions

Below we have answered some questions that frequently come up, if you need any more detail – get in touch.

How our beginner course works:

Rather than taking new members in at random times of the year, we have a limited number of dedicated beginner months throughout the year in which we take in groups of new members at the same time. That way you are starting off with others who are also taking up Krav Maga for the first time.

What will I learn in the class?

We cover all aspects of self defence training as well as pad work striking and fitness training. Among the topics we will cover in the beginner month are:

  • Recognising the signs of violence ahead of time
  • Defending against chokes, knife threats, punches, muggings & much more
  • Defending against multiple attackers
  • Striking, fitness & strength training

Does it take long to learn Krav Maga?

Krav Maga is designed to be easy to learn, it doesn’t require extreme flexibility, nor do you have to be super fit to start. Straight from your first class you will pick up practical self defence skills that can help you avoid conflict or escape/survive it if there is no other option.

What is the club like?

The club has been running since 2009, we have a solid group of people training with us, some for over 10 years. There is always a great atmosphere at the club, we train on a serious topic, but the classes are conducted in a relaxed manner. What is more, everyone remembers starting out training so experience members are always welcoming & encouraging to new beginners.

What happens after the beginner month?

During the beginner month you will get 8-classes-for the €50 fee. During this month we will train you on the most important skills to defend yourself and your loved ones, you will develop striking skills & improve fitness.

After the beginner month you might decide that you have enough skills or you might decide to continue into the weekly classes. In the weekly class you will continue to improve your ability to defend yourself and go further into the fitness training options we offer including barbell, kettlebell & mobility training. A lot of people decide to continue as it is a more rewarding & enjoyable method of staying fit than running or going to the gym. You can learn the vital life-skill of self defence while improving your fitness.
